There’s something really special about seeing familiar faces in front of my lens — especially when those faces belong to one of my favourite returning families! This weekend’s mini session in one of Calgary’s stunning ravines was like catching up with old friends, and it reminded me why I absolutely love what I do.

Nestled in the heart of a quiet neighbourhood, our little photography spot was nothing short of magical. Towering trees still holding onto their summer greens, a soft breeze rustling the leaves, and a clear, winding creek that added the perfect touch of sparkle in the background — it felt like we stepped into a storybook.

The best part? The boys. Oh my goodness, these two were a riot! Full of energy, imagination, and brotherly mischief, they brought such a playful spirit to the session. There was laughter, mean-muggin’, and a few little wrestling matches between shots — which made for the most genuine, joy-filled smiles.

What I love about working with returning clients is the sense of ease and connection that builds over time. Mom and Dad were just as warm and relaxed as ever, and it was so fun to see how their boys had grown — taller, a little faster, and just as cheeky. Watching this family evolve year after year is such a gift.

Despite the session being “mini,” the memories were anything but. The scenery, the laughter, the light — everything came together perfectly. I left the ravine with a full heart (and full memory card!) and can’t wait to share the gallery with them soon.
